* '''Mark Beierl (TSC Member, ETSI Open Source MANO | Canonical)'''</small>

This webinar offers an overview of the recently announced Open Source MANO Release ELEVEN, and a demonstration of some of its latest features:

With Release ELEVEN, ETSI OSM takes a new significant step towards standards adoption and increasing interoperability by adding support for standardized VNF and NS package formats (ETSI NFV SOL004 and SOL007).

Another important addition for interoperability is the support for Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, completing the list of three largest public cloud providers, i.e., Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform

OSM also keeps alignment with the most recent market needs and implements the latest technologies for managing cloud-native deployments. Release ELEVEN brings fine-grained operations for Cloud-native Network Functions and better integration across functions of different nature. This is achieved through enhanced data exchange mechanisms which enable advanced hybrid deployments including Physical, Virtual, and Cloud-native Network Functions

From a Service Assurance perspective, OSM monitoring has been expanded to include metrics collected from Kubernetes clusters in a centralized Grafana dashboard.

=== OSM Architecture, Release THREE Feature Updates and Data Model Overview ===
== ZSM PoC#2 showcase: Automated network slice scaling in multi-site environments @BrightTALK (April 16, 2021) ==
<small>'''Adrian Hoban (TSC Chair, ETSI Open Source MANO | Intel)'''</small>
* <small>'''Jose Ordonez-Lucena, Telefonica I+D'''
* '''Christos Tranoris, University of Patras, Greece'''
* '''Borja Nogales, Univesidad Carlos III Madrid'''
</small>

This session provides an overview of the OSM architecture, the functional split in the modules, the mapping between OSM and the ETSI NFV MANO logical view. It also provides an overview of the OSM data models for the VNF Descriptor (VNFD) and the Network Service Descriptors (NSD) and how some of the salient attributes are handled in OSM.
ETSI ZSM ISG PoC#2 aims to demonstrate the capability to automatically scale out a network slice instance deployed across multiple administrative domains. This is achieved using the 5G assets of 5G-VINNI. 5G-VINNI is a large-scale, end-to-end 5G facility composed of several interworking sites, each corresponding to a different EU node and defining a single administrative domain. The management and orchestration capabilities of individual 5G-VINNI facility sites, and the enablers allowing for the interworking across them, are aligned with ZSM architectural design principles.
This webinar showcases the ZSM PoC#2, with a demo applied over a network slice deployed across two 5G-VINNI facility sites: Madrid (Spain) and Patras (Greece). This PoC demo will show how OSM and Openslice stacks collaboratively work to provide automation means for a zero-touch scaling operation over this network slice.

* '''Subhankar Pal (SA MDG Lead, ETSI Open Source MANO | Altran)'''
* '''Alejandro Garcia (Committer, ETSI Open Source MANO | Whitestack)'''</small>

This webinar offers an overview of Open Source MANO Release NINE, and some of its latest features:
* This release improves the use of VNF Operations, providing a more efficient and scalable way to manage network functions in Kubernetes, and allowing to distribute the agents managing VNF/CNF operations (Juju Proxy Charms) across different types of clouds; bringing higher resiliency to highly distributed edge deployments..
* From the management perspective, Release NINE offers a seamless integration with Grafana (the world’s most popular technology used to compose observability dashboards), that now supports Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), in order to provide granular access to dashboards for different users, based on their security profiles.
* Finally, OSM Release NINE completes the native adoption of ETSI NFV standardized YANG Data Models (ETSI NFV-SOL006), ensuring a consistent standardized and interoperable way to describe network functions and services, allowing them to be deployed in any Telco Cloud and orchestrated by any SOL006 compliant orchestrator.

OSM Release ELEVEN Webinar @BrightTALK (February 2, 2022)

  • Francisco-Javier Ramón Salguero (Chair ETSI Open Source MANO | Telefónica)
  • Gerardo Garcia (TSC Chair, ETSI Open Source MANO | Telefónica)
  • Ramesh Ramanathan(TSC Member, ETSI Open Source MANO | Tata Elxsi)
  • Mark Beierl (TSC Member, ETSI Open Source MANO | Canonical)

ZSM PoC#2 showcase: Automated network slice scaling in multi-site environments @BrightTALK (April 16, 2021)

  • Jose Ordonez-Lucena, Telefonica I+D
  • Christos Tranoris, University of Patras, Greece
  • Borja Nogales, Univesidad Carlos III Madrid

OSM Release NINE Webinar @BrightTALK (February 17, 2021)

  • Francisco-Javier Ramón Salguero (Chair ETSI Open Source MANO | Telefónica)
  • David Garcia (N2VC MDG Lead, ETSI Open Source MANO | Canonical)
  • Subhankar Pal (SA MDG Lead, ETSI Open Source MANO | Altran)
  • Alejandro Garcia (Committer, ETSI Open Source MANO | Whitestack)

This webinar offers an overview of Open Source MANO Release NINE, and some of its latest features:

  • This release improves the use of VNF Operations, providing a more efficient and scalable way to manage network functions in Kubernetes, and allowing to distribute the agents managing VNF/CNF operations (Juju Proxy Charms) across different types of clouds; bringing higher resiliency to highly distributed edge deployments..
  • From the management perspective, Release NINE offers a seamless integration with Grafana (the world’s most popular technology used to compose observability dashboards), that now supports Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), in order to provide granular access to dashboards for different users, based on their security profiles.
  • Finally, OSM Release NINE completes the native adoption of ETSI NFV standardized YANG Data Models (ETSI NFV-SOL006), ensuring a consistent standardized and interoperable way to describe network functions and services, allowing them to be deployed in any Telco Cloud and orchestrated by any SOL006 compliant orchestrator.
