ETSI OSG Open Source MANO (OSM) at the edition of SNS4SNS – Software & Standards for Smart Networks & Services, which will take place in Sophia Antipolis, France, from 2–5 February 2026.

Overview

🌐 SNS4SNS is an event that brings together open source communities, industry standardisation, and cutting edge research initiatives for the future development of next generation networks and services. The event will consist of conferences, panel discussions, demos, tutorials and hackathons, where participants can delve into the world of open source software communities.

🌐 The meeting will be held in English, and in-person only. Some of the tutorials/hackathon will be recorded and published afterward.

✨ The SNS4SNS Programme Committee is pleased to invite submissions for presentations and/or posters and demos which highlight how innovation is being advanced through collaboration between open source communities, standards organisations, research initiatives (e.g, Horizon Europe, SNS-JU, national initiatives, …), and practical innovation.

✨ This year, the topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

  • Access Networks and Services
  • Telco Cloud and Data Infrastructures
  • Network Automation, Orchestration, and Operations
  • Network Exposure, Programmability, and APIs
  • Cross topics: AI, Security, Sustainability...

Call for SNS4SNS 2026 Hackathon

This is a fantastic opportunity to share your work and help foster collaboration among open source, standards, research, and industry into building an Open Software Ecosystem for Future Connectivity and Services and be part of the Hackathon & Open Innovation Challenge, which kicks off on 26 November 2025.

⚡Who can participate in the SNS4SNS 2026 Hackathon?

🔹Developers, startups, students, and researchers can build innovative solutions using at least two ETSI SDGs: OpenCAPIF, OpenOP, OpenSlice, OpenSourceMANO, or TeraFlowSDN.

🔹Whether extending a demo or creating a new use case from scratch, this hackathon is your chance to innovate, collaborate, and make an impact.

💡 How It Works

➡️ Register: Form your team and submit a brief idea. You'll receive links to SDG docs, repos, mailing lists, and Slack channels.

➡️ Build on Your Infra: Develop on your own labs, clouds, or testbeds. Integrate ≥ 2 ETSI SDGs and any external platforms (hyperscalers, telcos, EU testbeds).

➡️ Present Live: Demo your results on-site during the SNS4SNS event. Judges evaluate against transparent scoring criteria.

🗓️ Key Hackathon Dates and Timeline
 📍 Call for Participation Opens: '7 October 2025
 📍 Hackathon Kick-off: 26 November 2025
 📍 Team Submission Deadline: 16 January 2026 (each team must include at least one on-site participant)
 📍 Demos: 2–3 February 2026
