Overview

ETSI's Centre for Testing and Interoperability and the OpenSourceMANO community are organizing the OSM-MR#13 Hackfest on 18-19 October 2022. The event will be run during the Network X event in Amsterdam, Netherlands, followed by the ETSI TeraFlowSDN Hackfest on 20 October 2022.

Participation in ETSI Hackfests is free and open to all upon registration. Registration to the OSM-MR#13 Hackfest grants free access to the Network X event.

Venue

RAI, Europaplein 24, 1078 GZ Amsterdam, Netherlands.

More details at: Venue & Accommodation

Scope

The event will take the form of 4 individual tutorials featuring OSM Release TWELVE. Each session is meant to be independant to allow participants the freedom to attend other conference events as desired. Everything is provided, with the exception of a computer and remote desktop software for participants to access the labs.

There are specific sessions dedicated to the management and orchestration of different virtualization technologies (Kubernetes and Virtual Machines), as well as a session on using OSM to manage software that has already been deployed, or is a bare metal appliance, in an existing network.

Prerequisites

  • Registration is mandatory!
  • Participants are expected to have user-level knowledge of Linux.
  • You will need your laptop, with a Remote Desktop (RDP) client installed
  • A remote lab environment for the hands on sessions is provided for participants on site.
  • Interaction with the OSM community and offline support is enabled through Slack. Please join the #hackfests channel.

Who should attend

  • Network Operators and Service providers, who want to get first-hand operational experience with OSM
  • VNF vendors, who want to onboard their VNF in OSM following best practices
  • System Integrators, who want to develop their expertise with OSM
  • Academia and Universities, who are using or considering OSM as a platform for their research activities in networking
