Outstanding Technical Contributor: Lluis Gifre, Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC), Spain

Lluis Gifre received in 2016 the Ph.D. degree in Computers Architectures from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Spain. He is a member of the Packet-Optical Networks and Services (PONS) research unit at the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC) in Castelldefels (Spain). He is chairing the ETSI TeraFlowSDN (TFS) group Technical Steering Committee (TSC) and contributing to the ETSI OpenSource MANO (OSM). Within the 5GPPP TeraFlow project, he is leading the development of several core TeraFlowSDN components and the integration activities between TFS and OSM. His research interests include cloud-based platforms, Software-Defined Networks (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Network Slicing, and orchestration of B5G/6G infrastructures. Since 2022, he is an IEEE Senior Member. He participated in 9 EC/nationally-funded projects and 1 industrial collaboration. Outstanding Technical Contributor: Pedro Escaleira, Instituto de Telecomunicações, Portugal

Pedro Escaleira holds a Bachelor's degree in Informatics Engineering from the University of Aveiro, achieved in 2020, and is finishing his Master's degree in Cybersecurity at the same University. He is currently a Researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), where he has taken part in several 5G related projects, such as AUGMANITY and NETEDGE. His current research interests include Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), and Moving Target Defense (MTD).
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Endika Aldecoa, University of the Basque Country

Endika is a computer engineer currently working for the Network Quality and Security research group at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). He has been participating in NFV and 5G related European and local projects such as 5GESSENCE and 5GMOMO, focusing on orchestration, monitoring and scalability aspects of mission critical applications.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Emin Aktas, Ulak Communications

Emin Aktas earned a Bachelor's degree in Electronic and Communication Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2020, and has been a Software Engineer at Ulak Communications Inc. (Ulak Haberlesme A.Ş.) since Sep, 2020. He took part in many software, communication and mechanical projects such as Modulation classification with Deep Learning, Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) researches and Al-Jazari's castle clock throughout his education. In Ulak, his main interests are network function virtualizations, software defined networks, telecommunication technologies and software development. He also has been publishing his studies to online publishing platforms.

João Fonseca is a master's candidate in Computer and Telematics at the University of Aveiro and a research fellow at Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), currently researching interdomain vertical network slices for the H2020 5Growth project. He is also an active proponent of software freedom and an advocate for the Linux kernel. He manages the university's distro mirrors and disseminates through the university's Linux group (GLUA) a broad set of skills in managing, operating, and developing for this operating system.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Arturo Azcorra, IMDEA, UC3M

Arturo Azcorra, Dr, MBA, is the founder and Director of IMDEA Networks, and Professor at University Carlos III of Madrid. He is also Vice President of the 5G Laboratory 5TONIC. He has been visiting researcher at MIT and UC Berkeley. He was Director General for Technology Transfer and Corporate Development at the Spanish Ministry of Science from 2009 to 2010, and then Director General of CDTI (Agency for industrial research) from 2010 to 2012.

Luis Félix González is a PhD student from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) Telematics department, currently researching a thesis regarding NFV Management and Orchestration on Intermittently Available Resource-Constrained devices. He received a B.Sc. degree in Telematics engineering in 2018, as well as a Masters degree in Telematics engineering in 2019, both studied in the UC3M in Madrid (Spain). He has worked in several projects related with 5G technologies such as the 5GinFIRE European project and the 5GCity national (Spanish) project. He has a wide variety of research interest, mostly specialising in Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies and Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (SUAVs). He has published several articles in different international conferences and journals.

Francisco Valera received a Telecommunication Engineering degree in 1998 from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), and a Ph.D. in Telecommunications in 2002 from the Univ. Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), where he is currently a tenured associate professor and head of the Telematic Engineering Department. He has more than 20 years of experience in IT related research projects, including experimental facilities, protocol design, inter-domain routing, protocol engineering, 5G networks, multimedia systems and UAVs. He has published over 90 papers in national and international magazines and conferences and participated in technical and scientific committees.

Victor Sanchez-Aguero completed a BSc Audiovisual Systems Engineering in 2017, at University Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M). He received his MSc degree in Telematics Engineering at UC3M in 2018 and is now a PhD student at IMDEA Networks Institute. He has published different papers in several national and international conferences and journals, in the field of UAV networks, wireless measurements and IP/MANET/FANET routing.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Iván Vidal, UC3M

Ivan Vidal received the Telecommunication Engineering degree in 2001 from the University of Vigo, and the Ph.D. in Telematics Engineering in 2008 from the University Carlos III of Madrid. He is currently working as visiting professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. His research interests include Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 5G networks, multimedia networking, and network security. He has been involved in several international and national research projects, including the EU IST MUSE, Trilogy, the H2020 5GINFIRE, MEDIANET, and 5GCITY. He has published more than 50 scientific papers in several conferences and international journals, lately in the areas of UAVs and network functions virtualization.

Borja Nogales received the bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Technologies Engineering and the master in Telematics Engineering from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) in 2016 and 2018, respectively. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree also in the UC3M and collaborating in both European research projects (e.g., 5GinFIRE or 5GRANGE) and national research project in Spain like 5GCity. His research interests include networks functions virtualization (NFV), 5G networking and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Jose Antonio Quiles Follana, Minsait (Indra)

José Antonio has 30 years of experience in IT (defense, bioengineering, search engines and telecom sectors). He graduated as Telecommunications Engineer in the Polytechnic University of Madrid in 1990. He worked at INISEL for the Spanish Department of Defense (3 years), was a Professor at Polytechnic University of Madrid (3 years), a Specialist at Telefonica I+D (14 years) and Senior Consultant at Minsait/Indra (10 years). He is the author of the book "User interfaces with X/Motif", RA-MA, 1996. He has worked in several projects on defense, medical images, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, fraud detection, search engines and network management. From June 2019, he has been contributing to OSM, mainly to LCM and N2VC.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Tolga Golelcin, Telenity

Tolga has an experience of more than 20 years in software development in various sectors. He first founded his own company working on 3D Animation. He started coding on B2B and e-commerce projects as web developer for almost 3 years. Later he developed GIS (Geographical Information System) tools for GAS, Electricity and Telecommunication networks for about 4 years. He then contributed to the development of Real Time Charging and Provisioning Framework products in Vodafone for about 6 years. He worked on Release Management and Configuration Database management in Garanti BBVA for about 5 years. This was where he entered DevOps by deploying mainframe applications via web UI. Finally he found his home in Telenity where he entered the exciting world of NFV and worked with various OpenStack versions and many NFV MANO solutions. He found the OSM community very friendly and started contributing to the project by testing and supporting beginners in OSM Release FIVE and Release SIX and participating to the VNF On-boarding Task Force. He is now looking at contributing to the development of MON and POL modules.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Pedro de la Cruz Ramos, Altran

Pedro de la Cruz holds a PhD in Telecommunication Engineering by the Polytechnical Univesity of Madrid (UPM). He has more than 30 years of experience in the Telecom, Software and IT sectors. He has worked as Assistant Professor in the UPM; as Main Systems Analyst, Team and Project Leader, and SW Process Manager in Alcatel-Lucent; as CIO/CTO in Cuántalis Europa; as IT Consultant in ALTEN Spain; and as Senior Researcher and Business Director in Telcaria Ideas. He is currently working as Advanced Consultant and Engineer at the World Class Center on Advanced Networks, SDN and NVF in ALTRAN Innovación. He has participated in the ESPRIT PROSPECTRA and H2020 Superfluidity European projects. His current interests include Cloud Computing, Virtualization and Containerization technologies, Network Function Virtualization (VNF) and Software-Defined Networking (SDN). Pedro has been contributing to OSM since Release SIX, mainly in the NBI, common and SOL005 components. He was awarded during the Release SEVEN cycle for his contributions to the OSM NBI Open API definition.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Guillermo Calviño Sanchez, Altran

Guillermo has more than 10 years of experience in the Telecom Sector (VAS & IT) as well as network engineering. He studied Telecommunications Engineering and has completed an MA in NFV/SDN and 5G technologies. For the last years, he has been focusing on projects related to network transformation such as Cloud Computing and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).
Guillermo has been contributing to OSM since release THREE, being an active member in the development and integration of several modules (RO, LCM, NBI or DevOps). He was awarded during the OSM Release SIX cycle for his contributions to those modules and his active involvement in the preparation and running of OSM Hackfests.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Benjamín Díaz, Whitestack

Benjamín is a software engineer with broad experience developing and deploying production-level Cloud Computing and NFV solutions. He has been actively involved in various open source initiatives, such as OpenStack and Open Source Mano (OSM). Some of the projects he has worked on include private and public cloud production deployments, leading development of Whitestack's OSM distribution and development of network automation software. Benjamín was awarded for his contributions to the OSM security analysis and improvements in the Monitoring and Policy modules during the OSM Release SIX cycle
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Anderson Bravalheri, University of Bristol
Anderson Bravalheri is a Research Associate at the High Performance Networks Research Group, University of Bristol, UK. He received his Bachelor and Master degree in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications and Telematics) from University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil in 2011 and 2016 respectively. During his career as telecommunication researcher, Anderson have worked with a variety of technical projects covering from control of optical components and firmware development up to SDN applications and NFV. His interests include Optical Communications, Fuzzy Control, Distributed Systems, Game Theory, SDN, NFV and MANO systems. Anderson was awarded for his contribution during the OSM Release FIVE cycle to the support of the dynamic inter data-centre connectivity through a WIM plugin model.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Francesco Lombardo, EveryUp
Francesco Lombardo is co-founder and CTO at EveryUP S.r.l., a spin off company of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.
Currently, he is a PhD Student at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He has worked in different research and development projects as researcher for CNIT.
His research interests include Network Function Virtualization, Software Defined Networking.
Francesco was awarded for his contribution during the OSM Release FOUR and FIVE cycles to the new light-weight Graphical User Interface.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Gianpietro Lavado, Whitestack
Gianpietro is networking solutions architect, with current focus on the most innovative software technologies to achieve efficient network operations. He has got more than fifteen years of planning and deployment experience in Service Provider technologies, including Core, Carrier Ethernet, Data Centre, Cloud, SDN, NFV and Network Management. Previous positions include Planning and Operations roles at Impsat / Global Crossing, and pre/post-sales roles at Cisco Systems.
He is currently a lead architect at Whitestack, a new company with the mission to accelerate SDN, NFV and Cloud deployments all around the world.
Gianpietro was awarded for his contribution during the OSM Release FOUR Cycle to the Monitoring module.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Manuel Peuster, Paderborn University
Manuel Peuster received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in computer science from Paderborn University, Germany in 2012 and 2014, respectively. He is currently a research associate in the Computer Networks group at Paderborn University where he is working towards his PhD. His main research interests are network function virtualization, software defined networks, and performance benchmarking of distributed systems.
Manuel has been involved into several research projects, like GreenTouch and SONATA NFV. He is currently involved in the European H2020 project 5GTANGO. He started and leads the Containernet open source project and is an active contributor to Open Source MANO (OSM).
Manuel was awarded for his contribution during the OSM Release THREE Cycle to the VIM Emulator (vim-emu).
Outstanding Community Development: Kaela Loffler, Netrounds
Kaela is the VP of Channels & Marketing for Netrounds and is responsible for driving engaging external communications and branding strategies, as well as translating market expectations to sales engagement support. Prior to Netrounds, Kaela held roles within business development, marketing, and program management, focusing on OEM and technology alliances. She has also assisted with the Women in Comms initiative as an advisor and is active on the ETSI Open Source MANO Marketing Task Force. Kaela holds a Master of Business Management degree from the University of British Columbia in Canada.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Michael Marchetti, Sandvine
Michael has over 20 years of development experience and holds multiple patents in the field of networking and system architecture.
He is currently Senior Architect at Sandvine, where he is leading the development of the virtualization architecture.
Michael attended the University of Waterloo’s Bachelor of Applied Science program for Computer Engineering.
Outstanding Technical Contributor: Jokin Garay, Keynetic Technologies
Jokin is co-founder and Managing Director in Keynetic Technologies. After a successful career of almost 10 years in Accenture, a global consulting company, leading System Integration and Technology projects, Jokin went back to the University to pursue a PhD in network virtualization and security, while participating in FP7 research projects and with a strong focus on demoing novel ideas in SDN and NFV. Since 2016, he devotes his time to Keynetic, a start-up oriented to 5G-native security solutions.

The OSM governance structure is made up of a Leadership Group, an End User Advisory Group, a Technical Steering Committee, Module Development Groups and various Task Forces.
The role of the OSM Leadership Group is to set the policies of the project, to make administrative decisions and to guarantee vendor-neutrality. The members of the Leadership Group coordinate marketing efforts together with the Marketing Task Force and act as the main external representatives for OSM.


The role of the Technical Steering Committee is to coordinate the project’s technical activities.

Gerardo García is a Technology Expert in Telefónica. He is working for Telefónica’s Global CTIO Unit in the Cloud & Infrastructre Area, where he is involved on different topics related to muti-cloud tools and technologies, Kubernetes, GitOps, NFV, OSM, public and private clouds, orchestration, and automation in the telco area. Gerardo has been technically involved in the NFV ecosystem from its birth, contributing to the ETSI NFV ISG, with special dedication to data plane performance of Network Functions. In April 2016, with the foundation of OSM, he became one of the TSC members. As part of the OSM community, he has been actively contributing to the code and has led different key technical discussions such as the introduction of the micro-service architecture, the support of Kubernetes-based Network Functions and the connectors to public cloud platforms. He currently performs the role of Chair of ETSI OSM Technical Steering Committee. He is also author of several patents and over 20 research papers related to traffic measurements, routing, network QoS, P2P and content-aware networks.

Navdeep Uniyal is a Telecom engineer working with Indra for the past 1 year. He has a background in Network Orchestration research for 7 years with publications in multiple peer-reviewed conferences and journals.
Navdeep has worked on various EU Horizon projects involving OSM and has contributed to the WIM feature in the past.
Currently, Navdeep is working on a project involving Open Source MANO environments with a tier-1 European operator in the U.K. With a background in NFV research and recent experiences with the deployment and operation of production environments using OSM, Navdeep can provide some focused perspective in the forthcoming releases of OSM.



Lovejeet is a Principal Engineer at Hughes Systique Pvt. Ltd. (HSC), specializing in NFVi within the Networking and Wireless Unit. He is actively engaged in research, development, and project execution focused on cloud infrastructure and networking technologies, including Kubernetes, Ceph, Open-Source MANO (OSM), FRR, and other orchestration frameworks. His key contributions include enhancing the RO (Resource Orchestrator) module in OSM to support Service Function Chaining (SFC) for OpenStack, improving network automation and virtualization capabilities.
