Overview

The OSM Ecosystem Day allows organizations in the OSM Ecosystem to share about their Open Source MANO experience and how OSM is helping them to achieve their goals. Presentations and demos cover a wide range of aspects from research activities in academia to production deployments and commercial initiatives, many of them focused on 5G and MEC use cases.

Registration is free of charge and open to all, register here! You are most welcome to invite your colleagues and partners to join us.

Agenda

  • 2:00 - 2:05 pm CET Welcome to the OSM-MR#12 Ecosystem Day by OSM MARCOM
  • 2:05 - 2:30 pm CET The SPIDER Platform – Demo of deployment and management of virtual topologies in 5G programmable environments
    • Speakers: Prof. Roberto Bruschi and Dr. Chiara Lombardo, Unige, SPIDER
    • Abstract: The SPIDER Project aims to deliver a next-generation extensive and replicable cyber range platform for 5G, offering cybersecurity emulation, training, and investment decision support. Its network and computing platform is specifically conceived to host multiple isolated tenant spaces (e.g., as project environments) that can emulate complete 5G network environments. This talk presents the two most relevant software services, the NFV Convergence Layer (NFVCL) and the Testbed Manager, that are responsible for the automated deployment, management, and refresh of the whole testbed after each exercise, which can be fully reproduced in an automatically restored environment. The former communicates with OSM through standard ETSI NFV interfaces to build and dynamically manage complete network environments, while the latter allows managing and terraforming bare-metal resources to install, build, and configure complex and distributed IaaS and PaaS environments for hosting VNFs and vertical applications components.
  • 2:30 - 2:55 pm CET Demo: OSM in a box!
    • Speakers: David Garcia, Canonical and Mark Beierl
    • Abstract: OSM installation on a K8s cluster ready to deploy CNFs, all in the same machine. This solution is a complete environment ready for developers, demos, or proofs of concept.
  • 2:55 - 3:05 pm CET Group Picture!
  • 3:30 - 3:55 pm CET Demo: One-click 5G Core with OSM
    • Speakers: Sergio Tarazona, Whitestack
    • Abstract: OSM orchestration capabilities allow us to launch different VNFs and CNFs simultaneously and on multiple different sites as part of a single Network Service! Let’s take a look at a real 5G Core use case leveraging Open Air Interface platform.
  • 3:55 - 4:00 pm CET Wrap up by MARCOM
