The Software Development Group Open Source MANO (OSM) actively contributed to the ETSI SNS4SNS Conference through technical presentations, demonstrations, networking activities, and collaboration with other ETSI SDG open source groups.
The event is free of charge and open to all upon registration.
OSM at the SNS4SNS Conference
The Conference on Software and Standards for Smart Networks and Services brought together experts and decision makers from different standards organizations, open source communities and research initiatives to discuss synergies, best practices and opportunities for collaboration in the design and development of sustainable and interoperable networks and services. TThe conference included sessions on Access Networks and Services, Telco Cloud Infrastructure, Management, Orchestration and Operations, Network Exposure, APIs, and Programmability, and concluded with a large operator panel that discussed key findings, conclusions, and next steps.

OSM Presentation
Within Session 3 - Management, Orchestration and Operations, ETSI Open Source MANO (OSM) showcased the latest advances in cloud-native orchestration and automation for multi-cloud network deployments.
ETSI OSM: Scalable Cloud-Native Operation of Multi-Cloud Deployments
Presented by Francisco Javier Ramon Salguero, Telefónica and Chair of ETSI OSM, this session highlighted how OSM enables operators and service providers to automate the lifecycle management of network services across distributed cloud environments.
The presentation covered:
- Cloud-native network orchestration
- Automated lifecycle management of CNFs and VNFs
- Multi-cloud deployment and operations
- Service automation and zero-touch management
- ETSI NFV compliant orchestration workflows
- Integration with open source networking ecosystems
OSM Contributions to Demos and ETSI Software Developement Groups Collaboration
OSM was also featured as a key component of the demonstration ecosystem presented during the conference demos and exhibition sessions.
Stand 1 - Open Source for Telco-Cloud
An ETSI SDG-based solution to facilitate zero-touch, multi-slice 5G deployments across the cloud-edge continuum
Presented by Kostis Trantzas, University of Patras
This demonstration showcased the integration of three ETSI Software Development Group projects:
- ETSI OSM (Open Source MANO)
- ETSI TeraFlowSDN (TFS)
- ETSI OpenSlice (OSL)
Together, the three projects delivered a complete open-source solution enabling the automated deployment of distributed 5G services across multiple cloud and edge domains.
The demonstration illustrated:
- Zero-touch service deployment across cloud and edge infrastructures
- Multi-cloud resource orchestration
- Automated network slice provisioning
- End-to-end service lifecycle management
- Policy-driven access control across domains
- Cloud-native 5G network service deployment
OSM played a central role by orchestrating the deployment and lifecycle management of disaggregated cloud-native 5G network functions, enabling the creation and operation of multi-slice environments across heterogeneous infrastructures.
Strengthening the Open Source Ecosystem
The SNS4SNS Conference demonstrated the growing importance of open source software within the telecommunications industry. Through participation in presentations, demos, and discussions, OSM reinforced its position as a leading open-source MANO platform capable of supporting cloud-native, multi-cloud, and next-generation network deployments.
By collaborating with initiatives such as TeraFlowSDN, OpenSlice, OpenCAPIF, OpenAirInterface, and Nephio, OSM continues to contribute to a robust and interoperable ecosystem that accelerates innovation for 5G, 6G, and beyond.

Closed Loop Automation Platform for Intelligent Security Operations with TeraFlowSDN and OSM. by Allen Abishek, CTTC
The poster demonstrates a Closed Loop Automation (CLA) platform that enhances network security through automated responses. It integrates components like Traffic Sniffer, AI-Inference, Attack-Detector, and Attack-Mitigator to detect and mitigate threats in real-time. The platform improves security resilience and automates operations, reducing detection and recovery times for malicious attacks in the network environment.
F5G & ZSM PoC: F5G-advanced access and transport network with autonomous service management enabling End-to-end CAMARA QoD Services for Cloud AR/VR Gaming by Lluis Gifre, CTTC
This poster aims to illustrate the demonstration of a network-as-a-service platform deploying CAMARA QoD services for Cloud AR/VR gaming, relying on an F5G-Advanced network that provides end-to-end network slices with flow service classification, differentiation, monitoring/telemetry, and assurance based on closed-loop automation. It leverages ETSI SDG TFS and OSM.
Multi-domain Security and Trust Orchestration Leveraging TeraFlowSDN and Open Source MANO bu Shayan Hajipour, CTTC
This poster introduces a platform for orchestrating security and trust across multi-domain network slices with various security providers. It combines technologies like ZSM and Blockchain, using TeraFlowSDN and Open Source MANO to enable the platform to instantiate network connections and services.
